just received my shipping data report of my 1963 coupe it was delivered to Butler Chevrolet in east providence Rhode Island

anyone ever heard of this dealer or its successor ? and there address in the 60s ? i did some google search and it seems its long gone

i bought the car in 2006 at a car dealer in NY and the previous owner was from warwick RI who had it for over 27 years so it seems it spend most of its live in RI

There was also a Butler Chevrolet at the corner of Broad and Coleman in New London, CT, when I was there as a cadet at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy up to June 1973 when I graduated. The ad in the 1971 yearbook says Butler Chevrolet had been there for 29 years.

All of the newly promoted seniors (first class) would go to Butler to buy their new Chevys (and Corvettes!) a year before they graduated. There were 6 guys in my class that bought Corvettes at the advent of our senior year. Three of them were brand new '72s; one held off for 3 months and bought a new '73 model; one bought a used '69 coupe 427, and my best friend bought a used '70 roadster big block. The Corvettes were unceremoniously referred to as "plastic pigs" by the rest of the class! Little did they know......!
