There have been some recent questions regarding the shipping data reports. I received mine and was disappointed that the dealer was not known. My car is undocumented and I was hoping to know the city and state where the car was delivered. My car was apparently dealer code 676 in zone 16 and believed to be in North or South Carolina. Not much help unless another member has original documentation with these same codes and zones.

Re: Corvette Shipping Data Report
Donald,
All of the requests that end up with partial information will be run back through the system after we have a chance to categorize what is missing. If we find additional information it will be supplied at no charge. This stuff was on microfiche some is very hard to read some pages in the books are missing. Once we catalog all the issue areas we are hoping more detailed request for the specific missing information will generate better information we can supply to you. Keep your fingers crossed.- Top

Re: Corvette Shipping Data Report
My 1960 was shipped to Lyles Chevrolet in High Point, NC. The zone is 16 and their dealer number was 459. Try a title search with NC DMV. They have records that go way back. That's how I found the dealer information for my car.- Top

Re: Corvette Shipping Data Report
It is my opinion that a lot of work has to be done before something like that can happen. for instnace over a period of four years the dealer and zone could and did change 54 234 in 1964 may not be the same as 54 234 in 1966 or 1962. assuming because your dealer and zone is listed in the current database that it is where your car came from may create a false search the dealer and zones changed during restructrue and reallignment within GM.- Top

Re: Corvette Shipping Data Report
While I await confirmation of what we understand is the delivering dealer, I happened across something this weekend. In another thread here on the forum someone mentions the national title registry.
I ended up here:
The smaller images are in alphabetical order and in no way is meant to indicate a preference of one provider over another.
They have links to 3 places you can buy the history.
A record existed for my VIN.
A date of sale of 1 title in PA on 08-04-1969!!!
And the title date of 1st title was only two days later, 6-26-66 from the known title we had.
So who bought my car in 1969 from Reedmans' out in Langhorne PA???
For later cars you may try this, I think the issue is PA is not sharing the data...- Top

Re: Corvette Shipping Data Report
They send me a ton of DMV documents for as long as my car was in that state. Nothing on the documents was blacked out. Mind you this was in the year 2000, before all these privacy laws. PT
