New Owner of a 1978 Corvette – Seeking NCRS History and Info

    Hello everyone,

I’m the new owner of a 1978 Corvette with about 4,000 miles. Despite having been through a flood recently here in Florida, the car was incredibly well-preserved and meticulously cared for by its previous owner. I decide to restore it and keep it.

It also has an NCRS sticker, which makes me believe it may have been judged in the past maybe?

I’m hoping to learn more about the car’s history and any details from its time in the NCRS community. I couldn’t find it by using the vin format which I include below:

    78-22622

    Vin: 1Z87L8S422622

Any guidance or information would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

You can request an Award Confirmation Document [ACD] from the national judging chair. Go to the NCRS web site and under services you will find the ordering information.

      Welcome to NCRS Forums.

In addition to Bob Demmel's suggestion concerning awards, GM Archives has a service with specific information about your particular VIN. Link below is to an information request form. That's for a copy of your original "Shipper" document. "Shipper" has much information that mirrors your tank sticker - Options, Dealer, Dates, etc. Years back, GM provided this gratis, today $50. That service is available for Corvette 1977 and forward. I expect, with 4k miles, your tank sticker is intact - but access means dropping your fuel tank.

Share your feedback on accessibility for any General Motors site, we care about improving the user experience and addressing your questions or concerns.

p.s. GM Archives also has a free pdf download available for your year that has general dealer and manufacturing information about 1978 Corvette. (1953-2006 Corvette available)
