Re: Vehicle History?
Hi David. I too had purchased my corvette in NJ. What you can do is purchase a "Title search from Motor Vehicles Division" which will provide previous owner information. It is limited to the previous 10 years but if you research the individuals on-line and contact a person willing to cooperate, there is history to obtain.- Top

Re: Vehicle History?
David: You will have daunting challenge but with luck it can be done. Here goes:
1)Check with NCRS if car has ever been judged; if so you can get some info.
2)If some past owners can be found they MAY have some past Titles. Getting titles
now is next to impossible due to the new "privacy laws" that have been passed.
3)If ever the original owner can be found it is possible(Not Probable) to find out
what institution made the loan to that owner. This institution(If still open)
may still have the
wholesale invoice that has all the info you need. (options and etc.)
4)I am sure others will chime in for some more idea's. LarryLarry

Re: Vehicle History?
I did not think it would be so difficult. The person I purchased from in 2013, registered it in New Jersey in 1996. No other registrations in between. I did contact him (Flemington NJ). He had no other records and did not remember the name of who he bought it from. So dead end there. I only have the VIN to go by, which told me production date of mid-June 1963. I will investigate some of the advertisements from DRIVELINE that say they can get history and papers. If something else pops up I will try them also. Thank you all. My quest begins- Top

Re: Vehicle History?
Happy Thanksgiving. I finally received the Production date, Dealer Zone and #. Unfortunately, Dealer no longer exist. I placed the order Oct 2nd and received it today Nov 27th. It took multiple text, phone calls and emails to get it. Not happy with the service. This information certainly not worth the $50. At a dead end unless someone has a suggestion to learn more about the history. Thankls- Top

Re: Vehicle History?
Dave, don't feel too bad about dealer no longer available. Records were not kept that far back enough to benefit you. I did not know that the title searches from Motor Vehicle had been ceased. That would have given you what your seller had forgot.- Top

Re: Vehicle History?
David,
Try searching your vin in this NCRS forum. May get lucky. There is a post indicating a specific way to input your vin as described on the forum.

Re: Vehicle History?
I did so research o Riverside Chevrolet. They were charged with fraud buy the state of Florida and order to close in 2017 and restricted to do auto business. The dealership was taken over by Beaver Chevrolet in 2018. I will try some of bob's email suggestion.- Top
