I have been trying to locate the previous owners of my '68 for quite awhile now and have hit a dead end and have stalled. Found ownership history back to the mid 1980s'. Wished I would have used Mr. Gould's services when he was in the game. I hope retirement is treating him well. My ultimate goal would be to find out who purchased the car new in Gary, Indiana. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank - you.

Hi Blair,

The Driveline has a section called "Information Wanted". You might want to put your request in their. The more details on your car you have (VIN, color, engine, dealer name, etc.) might trigger someone (whether they were previous owners or not) who remembers that car; or knows somebody who knows somebody.... It worked for me many years ago - although I did not get back as far as I wanted...good luck on your search. thx, Mark

If you haven't already done the obvious, contact whatever Indiana calls the MVD with your VIN, how you know it came from there, and ask the parameters of their records - have they been purged or not? Back to what date? Does your current title show a "Previous Title" # or ID that would lead you one step back? If Indiana hasn't purged, copy your current title to prove you own the car and request a history.
