1963 C2 Convertible - Dealer Code 186, Zone 27: Major Chevrolet, Long Island City, NY

Hey Folks,

I'm a new member and attempting to discover some more history about my Corvette.

I received my shipping data report. The production date is 7/3/63 and the Dealer Code 186, Zone 27: Major Chevrolet, Long Island City, NY.

I'm really interested in finding the history of this vehicle as it was in France until the late 1980's at which point in made its way back to the United States (Newark, NJ).

Anyone have any information on how I would go about finding information the NY state motor vehicle registry?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Looks like they moved around through the years but still on Northern Blvd since 63. I've got a 1963 and 1974 Corvette Dealer Invoice from Major.

Rick, I would say your car was exported some time after delivery in NY. If it was ordered for export it would have a different dealer code. If you know what country your car went to there may be some records of the import. Good luck.
