Al Jansen Chevrolet Sidney Iowa Dealer Code 378 Zone 29

Mark Lincoln - Here are 2 protecto plates & warranty books from Al Janssen Chevrolet Co. 607 Indiana Sidney Iowa. The first one is printed 1969 on the cover and sold vehicle on 12/2/1968. The second one is printed 1970 on the cover and sold vehicle on 8/4/1970. Neither vehicle is a Corvette, but I would think the dealer data would not be affected.

Question - I know that I can input this data into the dealer code database on the historical document page. Would my photos of the protecto plate with dealer code and zone now be used by NCRS to validate the dealer name on a Shipping Data Report, or is information on the mirco fiches that you have the only way?

(not sure why these show up sideways, they are straight on my screen)

I have others that I will post that are not listed in the dealer database if these are helpful to you.

Brad, many thanks. Yes, add it to the NCRS site. The problem we have is there is not enough info in the book to confirm if they are real. As far as I know that can only be done by examination of the stamped characters as shown in the POP Book. As you know we have a few folks who have been producing POP's upon request.
If you can get a mid-year team leader to take a look at these that would be good enough for me. Thanks

Brad, After review we have dealer 29-378 listed in our dealer book and it is the dealer listed on the POP. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Thanks for the response Mark. I only posted, not to validate the metal protecto plate, but to share the Dealer Code and Zone info from the back of the warranty book. I purchased the contents of Al Janssen Chevrolet at auction probably 10+ years ago. At that time, the dealership had been closed since the early 1980's. Going inside was like a time warp. From that purchase, I have probably in excess of 50 Chevrolet warranty books all stamped with the Al Janssen name and dealer code. Although its possible, I would doubt that someone reproduced that ink stamp and left it behind in a closed down dealership for me to purchase 20 years later. My only hope was to share a missing dealer code to someone else that may be searching for their missing dealer information from Sidney, Iowa.
