    1978 Corvette 25th Anniversary 78-19248 VIN 1Z87L8S419248

    Hello
I am trying to research a 1978 Corvette 25th Anniversary car. I believe the vehicle originally came from Castle Rock, Colorado. It was owned by a gentleman with the last name Kennedy, I don't think he was the original owner. He purchased the car on May 30, 2013, so the title shows. It was titled twice in Colorado. First title number was 11A530604 and the second title number was 47E860830. Then it was sold in Florida on November 2, 2014. The car is very original and correct. I did drop the gas tank, but it appears that either the tank sticker deteriorated or someone beat me to it. The glue is still present on the tank but no paper. I would like to know a little history about the car and get a window sticker. I'll provide some details about the vehicle.

    1978 Corvette 25th Anniversary
    VIN: 1Z87L8S419248
    L48
    Automatic
    Oyster interior
    Cloth/leather seating
    Power windows
    Cruise control
    NO power door locks
Did not have the rear radio speaker option
    No glass tops just painted.
    AM/FM Stereo Radio
    Air condition
    Tilt telescopic column
    Alloy wheels

Really nice clean car with the majority of its original parts. Still has the original Catalytic converter.
    Title currently reads ACTUAL MILES
    everything works

      Barry,

Jack Morocco's link above to GM Archive gets you a "Shipper" document. Pretty complete documentation. Gives you VIN, dealer and dealer code, date shipped, invoice number, RPO codes - descriptions & prices, MSRP, Invoice cost, dealer name & address, etc.

I would be curious if its emission control was configured for high altitude. Quick check is the emission sticker on the driver's side of the engine compartment just above the power brake booster. Look for two letter code like DU or DY. If you get the invoice, it will show NA6 High Altitude emissions.

Thanks for all the replies. I took the advice and contacted the GM Media Center. I received the dealer invoice and it showed the car was originally sold through Frontier Chevrolet in Denver, Colorado. No mention of the high altitude emissions. Now just trying to research the owner history. I know of 2 owners. One in Florida and the other from Castle Rock, CO. Castle Rock is just south of Denver.

In the list of options look for emissions. One of the following will be on the list:

            8YNA2 Standard Emission System
            8YNA6 High Altitude Emission System
