    Perry Chevrolet- Towanda PA

just ordered a shipping data report from the NCRS. It came in the mail. I knew what to expect. Of course I hoped it would lead me to more information on the car.

For my 1968 corvette. it's official production date was 4/26/1968.

The original delivery dealer was Dealer code; 430, Zone; 49

    The document I received indicated

    "No Data-Begins with P or R"
    Towanda, PA

Based on my loose research, it seems this was Perry Chevrolet in Towanda, PA. I found they were sold and are now Ferrario Chevrolet.

It is a little interesting as I know the car spent at least the last 20 years in the Denver, Colorado area.

I called and of course they indicated they didn't have information that went back that far. (I don't blame them) Does anyone on here have any personal experience/history of Perry Chevrolet?

That would make sense. The sheets I have for zone 49 are dated 1972 so Perry would not be there. Ferrario is shown. Thanks boys.

          Hello John,
The dealership was sold in the year of 1968. What month of the year did the sale take place? This will tell when change of ownership relative to the delivery of your Corvette.
          Regards,

My 67 was sold new at Perry Chevrolet. A long time member here remembers seeing the car on their lot.

I was born and have lived in small town Towanda, PA all my 68 years except college. I am very familiar with many people that worked at the dealership....most dead now. I bought several cars there in the 60's and 70's. I am probably the person Steve Bramati is referring to in his post. I do not know the exact date Wesley Perry sold his dealership to Bob Ferrario because I was in college from 67 to 71, but I am guessing the last day of 1968. I bought a new 69 Camaro from Perry Chevy on 10/29/68 and it was still Perry Chevy. I still have the first registration (picture attached). Wes Perry is dead. His son is a medical doctor and retired I think. Bob Ferrario is retired but his son runs the multiple dealerships under their name including the one at the last location of Perry Chevy in East Towanda (on U. S. Route 6 also known as the Golden Mile). I think I have a picture(s) of the Perry Chevy building in my 1966 school yearbook if you are interested. It was a very small, one building dealership before Ferrario bought it. I think the showroom held 2 cars. They only had two salesman in the early years.....Joe Regan (a good friend) and Reuben Brimmer...both dead.

You can call the son now running Ferrario dealerships and I am sure he will remember the sales date. Don Ferrario 570 265 6111.

There is a "good luck" penny on the web for Perry Chevy. I assume Wes Perry opened his dealership the year of the penny which is 1947.

Send me a description of your car and I will ask some local people my age if they remember the car.
