Has anyone heard of this Dealer. I remember going past it so I know it existed as a small dealer in this village. The building on the corner had a showroom and shop in back but not much space for a car lot. I cannot find a dealer code for it and have info from a family member of the original owner our 61 Corvette came from there. I believe it folded around 1966 or 1967 and Sailsbury Chevrolet came into existence a few miles away right after it's closing. I have looked and cannot find a dealer code for them! Thanks.

Re: Valley Chevrolet Inc. Scotia NY
Hi, I looked up this info and Valley Chevrolet Inc. did not show up! Have a friend that worked for Mohawk Chevrolet (Have their dealer code) in Schenectady back then and knew about Valley Chevy and Mohawk was a fairly big dealership compared to Valley Chevy. Would a new dealer be given the dealer code of a defunct dealer? Still researching when exactly Valley closed ( about 1966) and Sailsbury opened up. My parents purchased a new Buick from Salisbury when they were located in Ballston Spa NY in 1967 which was located in the small converted town garage there. My friend brought up the idea that maybe Valley used Mohawks code and Corvettes were delivered to them! Might this have happened? Almost all of the missing parts of our 61 was purchased in Mohawks parts Dept. back then circa 1973. I would bring a list down ( pre internet days ) and purchase each week as I could afford it on a mechanics pay with a family!- Top

Re: Valley Chevrolet Inc. Scotia NY
Hi.Yes I found old newspapers on line and Valley appears up to about 1967 and I believe Salisbury Chevrolet was up in Ballston Spa NY and believe they sold Buicks and other GM models. They moved I believe approx. the time Valley closed. Would this dealer code be transferred from one dealer to another?- Top

Re: Valley Chevrolet Inc. Scotia NY
Hi, I was able to locate a woman who worked at Valley Chevrolet back then. I was told that the dealer would sometimes swap cars and acquire cars (Corvettes) from Mohawk Chevy in nearby Schenectady. A family member of the first owner said he purchased and picked up the new Corvette right in Scotia. Has anyone discovered a dealer code for Valley Chevrolet Corporation? I assume zone for Valley Chevrolet would be Zone 48 as it is very close to Mohawk Chevy. Thanks.- Top

Re: Valley Chevrolet Inc. Scotia NY
Hi, No I did not. Cannot find any info on Valley Chevy which is odd. I remember the place as a kid visiting relatives in Scotia in the 1950's and 60's so I know it was there and only find info on Salisbury Chevy when they were in Ballston Spa NY selling Buicks. My parents purchased a new 1967 Buick at the Ballston Spa dealership so assume the dealership moved to Freeman's Bridge rd. location after this time period. Where do I look for Salisbury info? I am the 4 owner of the Corvette. She was beaten since new (drag raced) and I found the remains in 1972. Thanks.- Top
