Hello from
Berlin Germany I look for some Information about a 1957 Modell. VIN :
E57S101983 Engine : Fll26FG. I Need all Information's i can get from this Car.
I now it a January 1957 Car, but what about the engine ? 283 powerglide dual
Carb. Hi lift or Std. Cam ? 245 or 270hp ? So please if you any Information
about this Car , let me know. Thanks from Berlin Berndt

It is difficult to get information as records were not kept.

What is the Casting number on the block? It is on the left rear behind the cylinder head on the are next to the bell housing. It may be hard to see under the bracket since it's a Powerglide.

What is the Cast Date on the block? It is on the right side rear of the block behind the distributor area and at the flange of the bell housing.

57 Corvette E57S101983 is listed in Mike Hunt's survey as a copper color car.

The engine stamp you posted F1126FG translates as a Flint engine, assembled November 26th, 283, 245hp, powerglide - assuming the engine is a 1957 283 engine. No high lift cam here, assuming the engine is original configuration.
