You could try the local library, maybe high school yearbooks from that year. Usually car dealers advertise in yearbooks.

My buddies 1966 Nassau blue corvette convertible sold at Dixie Chevrolet, Florence, South Carolina about that time it was a July 66 car I believe. I tried finding out information about the dealer years ago but didn't find much. I did find out that Dixie chevrolet became Tal Williams chevrolet,which became Charles Smith,then Bill Rutland,then Newsome,and now Capitol chevrolet.
