"ALL CARS MUST BE IN THE OUTDOOR STAGING AREA BEFORE 5PM MONDAY FOR OPERATIONS CHECKS TUESDAY MORNING, BEGINNING AT 9AM."

This notice on behalf of the Novi Convention Host Committee is to remind owners of the requirement that Flight cars must be in the outdoor staging area before Monday 5PM and are staged outside overnight before Operations Judging on Tuesday morning.

After Operations Judging the Flight cars are moved inside the Convention Center.

Why do the cars need to be placed outside for the night? July in Michigan has potential nasty storms and tornados. I know that we are talking about cars and they are built to be outside but the risk of weather might eliminate some owners from choosing to enter their cars. Any reconsideration?

Hi Gary,

Will there also be a limit of the amount of gas in the fuel tank of judged cars going inside? We had this problem with the fire marshall at an Ohio regional a few years back.

Suburban Collection Showplace Display Vehicle Rules for the 2011 Novi National Convention

1. All fuel tank openings shall locked and sealed in an approved manner to prevent the escape of vapors.
2. Fuel Tanks must be 1/8 of a tank full or less.
3. Batteries shall be disconnected in an approved manner.
4. Fueling or defueling of vehicles shall be prohibited.
5. Vehicles shall not move during show hours.

And, I think (no guarantee) cars have to be out Friday evening with Saturday being the Milford event.

Hopefully, all judging will conclude early enough so that we don't end up with a mad dash off the judging floor. It's difficult enough to remove, load and secure the cars in trailers and then prepare for the banquet by 6:00/6:30.

As far as Rick's question above that went unanswered, when will the display cars be allowed to enter the building or staged for display, Monday or Tuesday?

Staging ? Detailed Answer
Flight Judging and the other divisions that require Operations Checks will be staged outside overnight on Monday prior to moving into the Convention on Tuesday. All others will be placed in the Convention Center on Monday. This is the same Convention procedure that's been followed for many years.

Friday Night Security ? Answer
All Cars must be removed from the Suburban Collection Showplace Convention on Friday after Judging is completed.

There will be overnight security at the Secured Trailer Parking Lot and Crowne Plaza Secured Corvette Parking until 8AM Saturday morning.

So does this mean we have to pay for secured parking for one night because we are forced out of the convention center? This doesn't seem right.
