    Seat belts

I just got them last evening from Charlie Santorelli of Seat Belt Sity.
I could not be more pleased with price, turn around time, quality, or customer service.

    What he did:
    NOS black three panel webbing
Upgraded both buckle bases to "NO PIT" in original chrome
    Replated covers in Satin Chrome
    Refinished pushbuttons / Bowties
    Re-Cad the web bars (gold)
    Replated springs (in buckles)
    Replated my retractor stands
    NOS retractor covers
New correct C10 tags dated 15E67 as originals

Thanks Pat, but I think it would only qualify for the sportsman class.

Seat belt pocket design; slot vs. no slot

Regarding the design of plastic pockets into which the belts retract, when was the switch made to the style with the slot where the bar goes thru? The original pockets on my late-66 do not have the slot.

                      Re: Seat belts

Gary - Regarding the design of plastic pockets (covers) into which the belts retract, the original pockets on my late-66 (S/N 25305) w/red belts and on my early-67 (S/N 1476) w/saddle belts (dated 35E66) do not have the slot. In addition, these plastic pockets (covers) do not have a hole on the back side for the head of the large rivet that attaches the retractor mechanism assembly body to the anchor piece.

I would expect any design change time window to be variable depending on the color and how accurately they estimated and ordered these items for usage/production of the different colored belts and the actual production.

                      Pete

Gary, My 66 with saddle int serial #16400 built 3/14/66 has the covers without the slot. This car,I purchased in 1979 and it has been at rest ever since so I am confident they are the originals.

                            Russ,

You must mean a VIN of 16400, not 6400, for a March '66 build date.
