I assume by the map that you're going to "hit" Wyoming by driving down into Yellowstone from the north? If so, I'd highly recommend taking 191 or 89 down from 90 then take 212 out to Red Lodge, MT. You will very much appreciate the view. I was out there again 6 weeks ago.

Also, see if you can stop by Dave Ressler's collection:

I "think" he has it in North Dakota, but it may be at his Montana location. Either way, it's on your route.

And, if going through Michigan let me know. I know of some 30+ year owners if you're interested.

I see by your map that you intend to visit Orlando, FL on your tour. Could you let me know when that visit will take place and perhaps I can arrange to meet with you as well. I have an original owned 63 convertible.

Thanks, I drove to Red Lodge, MT, about 40 years ago from Billings MT. for the National Collegiate Track Meet in Billings MT. I won the Hammer Throw. Snow in Mountains in June. I look forward to this trip and meeting some very interesting people.

I will start to e-mail or call when I get close to the summer trip.

I will put a pin in the map for you. My brother and Dad lived in Ocala. Florida is the difficult part of the trip, Lots of cars and people , but I don't think I will have time to go much further south than the Orlando area.

In the Goodguys Magazine dated November or December there was an article about a guy who drove his streetrod through 48 states in I believe it was 7 days. A little fast for me but I thought the map of his trip might be of interest to you.

Thanks Bruce, I have several maps of other trips, most of them cover the states in a rush, just touching each state. My trip is about 90 days. It is a trip that I had planned in 1974, just me and the car, working as I go, but like all of us, life got in the way.

Now I have the opportunity, with the same car to do it. The research part, just came to me as I joined the many forums and started to think about documenting the relationship between man (woman) and machine.

Somehow to still have the same car that you may have bought in youth, kept through marriage, partners, births, death, health and all the other things that life throws at you, is rare.

It is a love story and relationship that should be shared before our generation is gone.

What a great trip this will be Jack! You might want to checkout this web site I came across. This man has quite the place in North Palm Beach FL and has quite a collection of cars, but especially Corvettes. Maybe he also has some good stories about them?

There's a huge collection of Corvetes (and Chevrolets) just south of Tampa FL. Also, there are quite a few original/long time owners just north of the Tampa area. That would only be a small adjustment for your map.

Thanks for all the info, My 7,000 mile trip keeps growing, I am afraid to add up the miles to visit all the people I want to. 10K or more. Whats 1000 gals. of gas for anyway. With a 3.70 rear, it should be a snap.

Jack, once again, we're hoping you are still thinking of seeing us as in Michigan, as a group during your travels. We'll bring a group of 30+ year owners plus some not-so-experienced too. In anticipation of your trip through, we've begun to plan for a group gathering so that you can share your story and some of us can share stories as well.

The added bonus is that if you are coming through Michigan during the second or third week of August, your trip will cooincide with the Concours deElegance at Meadowbrook and the famous Woodward Dream Cruise. I mentioned this to you in your earlier post. Just let us know!

Looks like your are very well organized Jack. Similar route to the one I took back in 2000. I ended up doing 7,400 miles.
