    C2-C3? SB/BB Fan Clutches; (John H.)

John -- Your answer to the '67 BB w/C60 thread below leads me to believe I might have been wrong in thinking that these 2 specimens I've been keeping are worthless.

Just want you to confirm that these are the original configuration (but in what time frame ?).

Top one is obviously big block, with the CK stamp and what looks like A3C stamped opposite; bottom clutch must be the small block CJ (part # ....139 ?) because the shaft is 0.27" longer than the CK. No steps in the shafts of either, and no date stampings on the water pump flange.

Before I book Oliva (kidding) can we narrow down the years these may have been used.

    Thx

    Wayne -

Both of those clutches look good to me, and exhibit the typical characteristics of original Eaton clutches for both applications. I'm not sure when the "bumps" over the reservoirs changed to the larger ones with angled sides seen on the current Eaton replacements (like the 3916141), but it was well after the midyear era.
