Re: Some San Diego 2012 Photos
In one corner of the Exhibit hall, the Direct Lift company set up two lifts, for raising up cars to be used as learning tools in
Terry McManmon's Advanced Judging Seminars held on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both seminars were good for five judging points
and attracted many participants. Here is C2 expert judge Gene Manno teaching C2 101. He was able to point out telltale signs of added
side exhaust, real deal KH wheels, over-restored paint, proper undercarriage restoration and much more on the cars placed on the lifts.

Re: Some San Diego 2012 Photos
Just back from San Diego - when's the last time you were at a meet and there was only ONE '67 BB - and NOT a 435 - as opposed to three of the rarest cars in the world, '67 SBC. '53 #13 was there and judged very well; CA '62 BBrake FI 24 gal tank was striking; Red '65 365HP A/C coupe was loaded accessory-wise;
It took me over three years to get to the NCRS National with this car. So much was incorrect on the car when I bought it 3-1/2 years ago. It had not been in the hands of individuals but a succession of four businesses over a period of almost ten years. I like to think that I saved it from the speculators who only drove it into and out of trailers. I drive this car! In fact, I drove this car the last 112 miles, from El Centro, California to San Diego after midnight the Friday before the meet, in order to get some "driving points". My daughter drove the pickup truck pulling the empty trailer through the mountaints in the dark with the wind howling through the passes. She is just 18, God bless her for her courage.
The car got a perfect score plus all the bonus points during the Sunday ops judging. On the Tuesday judging, I was pleased that my exterior paint took "only" a 22 point deduction instead of the 85 points it usually suffers. Just before this meet, I had taken Dick Whittington's advice on how to dull-down the unbuffed areas on my over-restored paint job, and the judging results were satisfactory to me. I looked Dick up at the convention and told him "thanks".
I look at the cars with few options and realize how much easier it is to Top Flight a car with the base engine and almost no options. My car has the 365 SHP engine with A/C, power brakes, power windows, tinted glass, AM/FM radio with the power antenna, C&C Group (back-up lights, etc.), 3.70 Posi, and the teak steering wheel. The non-factory side pipes took a big deduction but they aren't coming off!
The car is shown in some of the photos posted with this thread (above). Look for the Rally Red one that is "glowing" in the lights! My car was one of eleven 1965 Sting Rays being Flight-judged plus one being Bow Tie judged.Attached Files- Top

QUOTE " I drive this car! In fact, I drove this car the last 112 miles, from El Centro, California to San Diego after midnight the Friday before the meet,"
Folks this really is a driver - first time I saw it was about 3 years ago at a Saturday show and shine in Grandbury, TX (Clark drove it to and from in a light mist that kept some of the C6's in the barn)- have seen it at several other non NCRS shows since and it always shows well - rare car indeed - last 365 hp A/C coupe i saw was years ago in Lubbock TX and it was red with saddle interior.
Kudos to Clark for a lot of hard work over the past 3 years !- Top
