58 Hood question

Have a 58 with birthdate 12-24-57. Everything on motor is early with exception of hood. Mine is a left hand. Is that ok for judging.

Hi Don, when you say everything is early, do you have the early low mounted generator with the 'U' brace bolted directly onto the exhaust manifold? Also, it will have the stepped 57 style water pump pulley and matching lower pulley that places the fan belt dangerously close to the bottom radiator hose. Chevrolet used a radiator clamp to pull the hose back away from the belt and attached it to the bottom fuel line! As far as Judging is concerned, it would be a questionable set up but also 'possible'. Need to hear from other owners who have similarly dated cars etc.

The Generator bolts directly to manifold and pulleys are lined up. Body is off so hose problem is new to me. Am goinng to attempt to fire it off when together still bodyless. Thanks for new twist.
