    Whooose yaaa Daddy?? 67 # 802

An old friend Loren "LeMans" Lundberg alerted me and others to this possible inconsistency in the descriptions and/or typographical errors in the presentation of 1967 coupe VIN 802. If this be the same sow, then she certainly is proof that you can make a silk purse out of a ....

Can you say Caveat Emptor?? or is that $35 membership fee in the National Camel Riders Society a foolish extravagance?

    Is this the same car?

The amazing thing is the new owner could probably care less about what you just uncovered. What does this say for Craig Jackson's verification process?

Awards are not necessary. The number match.(Each other).

Whoose the Seller, is a more interesting answer than who shot the biggest load for a 67 at BJ. Someone out there in TV land knows.

            >>>>>>>>> ** It Driveline #154

I corrected the reference on the jpeg, but the newtork servers will keep the old copy of it in cache for some time before it updates with the newer jpeg from my server.

            IT'S DRIVELINE # 154 PAGE 47

Thanks again to L"L"L for alerting me to that reference.

You know, the verificattion process with all of the appropriate disclaimers. They forget to put "educate, read, learn, study, observe" and when you have done all of this..............DO IT AGAIN AND KEEP ON DOING IT!

For uncovering this, and having the B@LLS to put it out there.

Really nice coverage of the B-J Circus too!

Re: You get an "Atta Boy" Doc

I think BJ auctions used to stand for something good.

Now, they are fueling the craze by putting up cars that are sometimes less
than worthy. Forget about all the hype. It's all about the money now.

BJ has helped to change the market because let's face it, there are only so
many original "real" cars out there for sale. Other muscle cars, real or
cloned, are still desireable to the less than knowledgeable crowd. That does
not mean these buyers have less money, just not as critical as most of us here.

                        The F Word

                        Steve,

There is nothing wrong with a less critical person buying anything they want. However, if this thread is true, selling that car as original with tank sticker and owners manual is fraud.

                          Creating fake documentation is fraud

I think Dave is exactly right.

You can rationalize any changes made to a car's drivetrain and cosmetics as "owner preference". But when it comes to stamping VIN derivatives and creating fake GM paperwork, the owner is attempting to deceive others.

Selling a clone car as a factory configuration isn't cute, funny, or clever. It's just plain criminal at today's prices. Those in the "hobby" who wink and giggle at this behavior are doing as much harm as the shops creating these cars.

I don't think much justice normally comes from civil litigation. However, this is clearly an exception. I do hope anyone who pays premium for a car based on fake GM documentation sues the pants off the creator.

Couldn't agree more, and that fraud should be run up the flagpole for all to see. Pity that a "60 Minutes" type of exposure couldn't be manifested for this issue! This has put a knot in my gut!
