US Marshal's Service seizure. Apple has the contract to sell all their seizures within a certain area. Probably not going to get more information other than what you saw on the web site.Dick Whittington- Top

I wonder how this car got to Florida? The rest of her ill gotten gains were auctioned off here in Illinois. Something like 500 horses, half dozen horse trailers, and a Prevost as well as her home and land. I guess it would be hard to get the home and land to Florida.Terry- Top

Sounds like the Illinois I knew and loved then left. The only state in the union that has 2 Governors in prison at the same time and scores of other state and local officials in prison also.- Top

Paul: What makes it worse is that even after they are convicted the people of Illinois will re-elect them all over again! LarryLarry

Tom, I guess I missed that detail. I haven't paid a lot of attention to her story since Dixon is out in the country. We do things differently here in the city. It is only since my nephew married a girl from Rock Falls (which is really the country) that i began to note events in the wilderness.Terry- Top

I don't think we re-elect convicted politicians, but I am open to you citing an example. We draw the line at indited. We do believe one is innocent until proven guilty -- and we even extend that principle to politicians.

Re: Dixon IL (WI or FL) Rita Crundwell's 1967 Corvette Auction
Larry, don't misunderstand me. There were a couple of guys who won election in the last go around who probably should not have, but none of them were convicted -- in one case he was indited and in the other he was, as they say, "under a cloud." Without defending those guys, I will remind you that our legal system is that the person is innocent until proven guilty. That, thankfully, is the rules, and has been for some time. It prevents rumor in innuendo from damaging a person's reputation without grounds. On the other hand if the timing of all those events is maneuvered around an election, as it was in the case of the last governor to go to jail, it makes the whole system suspect.
We probably should be careful as we have dragged this thread off topic and we are in danger of becoming too political. Perhaps one or both of these guys own a Corvette.Last edited by Terry M.; November 21, 2012, 02:44 PM.Terry- Top

You are correct corruption in IL runs through all political parties. Just remember Illinois motto voter early vote often. Rock Falls is a Metropolis compared to Chadwick, Mt. Carroll or Lanark IL now that's country

Next time we get together remind me to tell you about my recent and only visit to Rock Falls. BTW: Across the river from Rock Falls is Sterling. They used to have (10-15 years ago) the Sterling Nail Company -- 3000 employees. Now 300 employees, and their nails are made off shore.

Let us not forget Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. and his legacy in Chicago and Congress. Now that he is out of office, maybe they can replace him with dear ole dad...Dr. George
