My C2 has been accepted for its' first PV (and mine) at the Nationals next month. Obviously I have been prepping and stressing over it, practicing, etc. I have been collecting tips from ones who have done it and am wondering about a "kit" I should have with me for possible quick repairs. I have an extra set of headlights, fuses, worm gear clamps, tools (screw drivers, wrenches, etc.) flasher, bulbs for various lights. Anyone have any other tips? Thanks.

Re: PV tips
I would bring extra bulbs for the parking lights, interior lights, etc. Also get to Kansas City early so you can run through the PV yourself before the actual test. You never know what might shake, rattle or roll loose while getting the car there. Best of luck with your PV and as Mike said take some antacids along! Bob- Top

Re: PV tips
Mike, first of all good luck! Enjoy it. I know it's stressful. Bring beer, extra cigarette lighter element, fuses, duct tape, reverse light bulbs (bringing a 67?) white lithium grease, large blanket to put on ground in case you gotta end up there to fix something, fluids for the car, syringe to prime the washer pump, and I am sure others will chime in. Good luck and keep us posted! ARA- Top

Re: PV tips
I have purposely kept the carb as it was set up for North Carolina/Florida in its' previous life, never re-jetted it for my 7000' elevation. It should be OK, I hope.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

As everyone has said best of luck. I would be happy to share our experience with you and the preparation we took when we passed ours at last years convention. Feel free to send me a PM or email and I'll gladly give you a ring to discuss.
Good Luck!

Re: PV tips
DRIVE the car around home testing all the PV functions with a Critical eye. How much play in the window cranks for the vent windows. Odo and trip ODO correct? Speedo noise? Shifter rattle? Gear noise either accel or Decel. Recheck all the lamps including the "Blinker" bulbs in the dash. Then calm down and enjoy yourself.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: PV tips
Check vent window for slop, no movement in door hinges, heater and vent control cables for smooth operations. Don't leave any stones unturned. You still have a few weeks, it would be nice if your chapter could do a shake down. Good Luck!- Top

Re: PV tips
Michael,
I have done this test 6 times and have passed 4 times. What has been suggested above is all fine.
Main thing to do is to do the Entire test as many times as possible at home..Make sure you have
correct tire pressure in spare. Make sure wiper squirters function properly. Make sure keys function
as designed. Most of all, relax..It is a great experience..Best of Luck!- Top
