convertible top clear deck lid protector is squeaky

Does anyone know of a product I can use to eliminate/reduce the squeaks I am getting from where my convertible top meets the clear static cling deck lid protector that I purchased from one of the major vendors. I REALLY like the way is protects and functions but it seems to cause annoying squeaks as I drive. Is there a silicone spray or similar product that I can apply to my rubber weather stripping on the convertible to fix this issue?

    Thanks,
    Tim

Tim, try to spread a very light coat of dielectric grease on the weatherstrip.

Thanks Ed. Your car looks a lot like mine! I will give a very light coat of dielectric grease on the WS a try. It sounds logical. What about silicone or some kind of weatherstrip treatment that is designed to keep weatherstrip soft and subtle? If anyone else has any suggestions, I am all ears!

I haven't checked availability lately, but GM part # 10131290 called silicone grease is what was recommended by the dealer to treat the door and side glass weatherstrips on my 2000 coupe to combat the squeaks. Worked great and kept the WS soft too. Chip.

The GM grease is essentially dielectric grease.
The cheapest tube of dielectric grease I have found is generally a large 3 ounce one, at it should last years.

You could also use Plexus plastic cleaner on the static cling protector to keep it clean and waxed.
