I purchased the repair kit for the shifter area of the console from Paragon. Paragon's kit requires you to install the knob on the ash tray door and peen the rivets. This is the second one I have used from Paragon and in both cases the brushed SS surround that fits around the shifter will not stay glued down. It has some sort of 3M peel and stick adhesive and keeps coming up, especially in the area where the trim is very thin.
I noticed that LIC's kit includes an ashtray door with the knob already installed, so it may come from a different manufacturer than Paragon's. So I'm wondering if LIC's shifter surround trim has better adhesive.
Has anyone used the LIC kit, and does the shifter surround stay stuck down?
thanks,
Don
