    Wrong clutch fork

For any of you that might be wondering about the status of my restoration here's a quick update.Got the car back from The Bow Tie Shop late this fall. Didn't have much time to drive it but took it out twice.Still having clutch problems and had to bring it in for a look.Removed all the linkage and determined it had to be the clutch fork.Ordered a repro from Paragon and pulled the tranny to get the old one out.The pictures attached shows just how wrong the one in it was.I don't know what it belongs in but it sure doesn't belong in a 62 corvette. So, with the tranny out I will torque the bolts on it and seal any leaks I find.Put it back in and hope there has been no damage to the clutch. The car looks pretty good with just minor fixes before spring.

The incorrect one looks to me like it might be the 1964-81 Corvette style fork.

      Yup......Precisely Joe.......see post #23 and further......

      David,

Glad you got it! I remember that thread back in the summer. The conclusion was wrong fork. You may want to add to that thread with a link to this one, or add a post to it for future archive search history.

Looks like we were correct. Put the tranny back in today with the new fork. Everything lined up good and I now have adjustment left on the clutch rod. And I actually have free play in the pedal. When I went to test everything the battery was dead, so my luck continues with this car. Will test it tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
