    54 horns Installation

I am working on a 54 that has no horns. The owner purchased restored originals and I have tried to find pics or description on how they are installed. I've tried different orientations and can't get them to fit.

I take it they are mounted on the radiators support via 2 each bolts that have welded nuts on the support. At least the holes line up with the brackets. Do the horn openings face in or out, and which direction do the rounded case face? Which horn goes on the passenger side and which on the driver side (high vs low)? Are they suppose to be inboard or outboard of the core support? Are they symmetric? Are the mounting brackets the same?

    Thanks In Advance,

    Greg

Greg, Here are some pictures of the horns on my '54 (#814) taken through the grille (please pardon the dust). It's not easy to get good pictures of the horns this way, but maybe it will help you. I can't say for sure that they are correctly mounted, but I'm pretty sure they've been this way since about 1985. the '53-55 Judging Manual says right side is low note; left is high.
