Sticking throttle action on my 69 Tri Power

    Hi Everyone,
Over the last month my throttle action has been sticking at the top when slowly pushing down on the pedal. I found this description (which describes my issue perfectly) on another forum when I searched Google:

" I have a 1969 Corvette 427 Tri Power that has a stiff accelerator pedal only when engine is running (near beginning of travel). When engine is off the pedal is very smooth. I read some other posts that talk about checking the springs, linkages & throttle cable. However, since the problem is only during engine running I think more is going on.

The car takes off like a rocket if you accelerate too hard so I would like to keep the car on the road by having a smooth pedal"

Has anyone experienced this? The fix for this Op was to do with his linkages being incorrectly fitted. My linkages have been in the same position since I refurbish carbs 6 months ago but this has only just started to happen.

I have a new cable to fit but haven't at this stage checked rods and fittings under the dash, but I have noticed it is harder to start when cold, if that helps at all.

    Cheers
    Grahame
