    Correct C2 Exhaust Clamp Vendor

Can someone tell me where I can purchase the correct mid pipe and muffler tip clamps the have the reinforcing rib as shown in Michael Hanson's picture?

    Thanks,

    James,

I have some 2" and 2 1/2" NOS aftermarket guillotine clamps that are very similar with the rib. Finding NOS GM clamps might be a bit more difficult.

Where were these purchased and are they still available? I am interested in obtaining a set of 2 and 2.5 inch

Re: Correct C2 Exhaust Clamp Vendor

        Keith,

I purchased all my guillotine clamps back in the 1980's at swap meets. I doubt that they are still available.

The blue/white box (2") does not have a manufacturer, just "C200", "8602", "LEAK-TITE CLAMP", AND ""10-01276-5" on the flap.

The green/white box (2 1/2") has "Versatube Corp., Troy Michigan 48084" as the manufacturer and described as "EXTRA HEAVY DUTY", "New ROL-TITE", and "Reinforced 12 Gauge Steel Saddle with Reinforced Rib".

                Jeff,

By any chance do you have an image of the 2.5" clamp from LIC that you could post?

The Granger clamp is not correct. The "U" bolt s/b a 5/16" thread. The listing says it is 3/8".

Do anyone know if any of the repro 2.5" clamps have a 5/16" thread?

Re: Correct C2 Exhaust Clamp Vendor

The 2.0 center clamp at LI is not correct, so would suspect the 2.5 is not correct. The center clamps (at least for 64) did not use a nut and L washer setup like the rear 2.0 clamp did.
The production units (center clamp) consisted of Bolt-U (3853724), a Clamp (3791357), and Nut (273802) While the service replacement part (3754883) was the entire assembly and used for both the center and rear. I would guess that the production parts did not have a part number on them. Now my 64AIM does not have the N11 section listed so exactly what part numbers were used I would like to know, please.

The LI rear clamp looks pretty good, no part number and has the nut and L washer, view LI # 33-41

Gary - here's a picture of the LI corvette 2" clamp. Has the 5/16 studs and uses a nut and lock washer. The 2.5 inch looks the same, but does not have the raises area in the middle bottom. And uses a nut and lock washer. Looks like 3/8 inch studs and takes a 9/16 nut. I don't have a picture off the car. I saw a set of old NOS GM 2.5 inch on ebay and chased them for a while, until the got over $400!! I have a set of GM rear 2 inch on my car - will see if I can find a picture. I got them from a FL corvette parts dealer some years back. Jeff

I forgot I copied down a picture from the ebay auction of the 2.5 inch NOS GM clamps - here they are. One side of the clamp has a large C and then below it Pat No 2719345 and then 2 1/2. I tried to take a picture of the GM 2 inch clamps on my 67 - tough to get at. The raised portioin at the bottom has stamped in it GM 3754883 and the other side has a 2 with a circle stamped around the number. Hope this helps! Jeff
