1954 or 1955 original color versus what it is today

How can one tell if a 1954 or 55 that is Pennant Blue today, actually came from the factory that way, ie, it is originally a Pennant Blue car? Is it known that cars have been converted to this color? Thanks for any insights...

As I recall, if it's a '55, Chevy produced the Pennant Blue only early in the year, through about the beginning of April, 1955. So if the assembly date of the '55 is after April, it's likely not an original Pennant Blue car. Otherwise, to determine the original color, try looking in places that were not easily resprayed, such as in the corners of the gas tank compartment. Also, if you're disassembling the car, look underneath the windshield in the windshield channel.
