    775 / 15 tires

I am buying a set of 775/15 blackwalls . Who makes the best tire for judging ? Kelsey's Goodyear Power Cushion @ $250.00 each
. Coker's Firestone Deluxe Champion @ $181.00 each . Or Coker's B F Goodrich Silvertown @ $181.00 each . Points are most important , then looks and fit .The car was built with blackwalls . Is there anyway to tell what brand It would have came with ? I used the Silvertowns before but this is my first set of blackwalls and first set for a 65 . Thanks for your help....Bill

Bill, I think the point deduct would be the same with all three brands, I am doing the same thing with my 64 670-15s, I am leaning towards the firestones. Dave.

Point deducton will be the same for all three. Kelsey makes the most correct reproduction as to size.
Some Coker tires are slightly oversized and do not fit properly in the tire tub.

Bill unless Corky has changed the molds on the BFG's, the Firestone or Goodyear will judge somewhat better. And if you are very skilled and patient, you can make those judge a little better.

I bought the Firestone 775 X 15 blackwalls from Coker about 3 years ago because that is what my '65 came with - Firestone. I have one of the original tires from my car. Coker told me that they had original molds; however, the Coker tires are somewhat different than the original Firestone and are slightly larger in diameter. They judged well at Texas regional last year in Frisco.
