Dying dash pads
I'm in the process of dying the dash pads in my 67 coupe. The pads are red and not in bad shape overall, but there are some areas of blackish, shaded discolorations. I have dyed pads in the past with great results, but after 2 coats of dye these discolorations remain visable, but to a lesser degree. The pads were thoroughly cleaned prior to application and SEMS prep was applied before the dye. Has anyone encountered similar results and is there a technique or product that could be used that would cover these marks? I was thinking some type of primer etc. Any thoughts?
