C3 Rear Deck Lid Hinge Color?

Was the rear deck lid hinge and spring painted black before being installed? I know that the lid was on when painted and there was body color onj part of the hinge but I cannot tell if the rest was painted before or not.

Wait and see what others say because that part of the Corvette (especially topless ones) is not my specialty -- but I believe both the hinges AND springs were in the car when it was painted. I seem to see them body color as best I remember.

my 69 is body color. I am not sure that it is correct, but I did not receive a deduction for it. Joe

I know the spring and hinge were in the car when it was painted and that body color is on about half of it but what I am trying to determine is the rest of it that does not have body color painted black.

Like Terry, I have never owned a topless Corvette (and didn't stay at a Holiday inn), but I surely have seen a bunch of C3 interiors. I believe that the hinges are painted body color.

I think you're asking "if the hinges were painted black under the body color"?
Considering that the door hinges were painted black before installation, might the deck lid hinges been black too?

On my 68 and 69 the springs and hinges are black with body color over spray on them. There is actually very little over spray on the springs as they sit back quite a ways.
