How do you protect blue certification label to repaint?

How do you protect it when you shoot the jambs?

    Thanks,

Bill when I painted my 72 I took a little extra time masking of the labels and painted the jams. I will say that becareful removing the tape its best to find a good edge that the sticker is adhered, there is a clear sheild over the sticker in 72. I did start to peel the clear so I started at another cornor. Once these stickers are removed they will not go back on car.take the extra time needed to do it right.

If that jamb is the correct color dont paint it or just paint the bad areas. If its lacquer it will blend .

I wish it still was the original paint. It was originally Nevada Silver. It was repainted gray metallic.

This might be the place to contact for your door sticker.

            Thanks,

I would think you could coat it with anything like Vasoline & the paint would not stick. As long as it does not affect the sticker I think the paint should rub off. I have not tried it on the door sticker though.

              Ken,

You just gave me an excellent idea that should work.

When a good body shop paints a car they spray a soap like substance that dries on the car to prevent overspray on the remainder of the car.. It washes off like soap.

Some of the repops do not have the correct shade of blue which usually will result in a deduction. Save the original if at all possible.

And some also do not use the correct type font.
