1956 Corvette Neutral Safety Switch

I am working on a 56 that has no neutral safety switch. I have purchased one with the rod. Does it mount in the same location as the 55? Where do the wires go and what color are they? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

The installation and wiring is in the '56-'57 Assembly Manual, section 313, sheet 3.00; scan shown below (I have a higher-resolution image if you need it). This is the '57 design, which may have minor differences from that shown on the '56 sheet, which is lost to history. I took the photo below of an original '56 Powerglide linkage during an Advance Judging Seminar at the Kissimmee Winter Regional last January.
