    Aftermarket A/C Questions

I recently bought a nice, very original '65 Coupe. I am going to have it judged in a Chapter event in Nov. Sometimes after that but before next Summer I am going to add a/c to this non-air car. I live in the Deep South and it is hot as hades down here. This car is a sure good driver and I plan to drive it. A/C is a necessity (especially if my wife is to go with me). I guess the addition of air to a non air car causes a point deduciton in any judging? I know the alternator has to be moved from the pass side to the driver's side to make room for the compressor. Old Air Inc makes a system that uses a compressor that looks very much like the old Frigedair compressor although it is the new modern (Sanden?) type. I am rambling but am interested in knowing if the addition of a/cto a non a/c kills you in a judged event. Thanks for any advice. Mike

If you search the archives you will find this has been asked before. Basically you will have a deduct for every hole that is there but shouldn't be. Possibly a few other things, I don't think it will "kill" you in judging. Good luck, Don H.

      Mike,
You can also use the stock compressor and brackets under the hood if you want that area to look stock.

      All that is available.

        Mike -

You will get (full) deductions for all the original non-A/C parts that are missing.
