    I like the ketchup bottle idea, the problem is today's gasoline with vented carburetors.

    Using the choke creates a low pressure area in the venturi so fuel flows into the carb. Usually the choke will close completely but at temps higher than 75* the choke may only close 75% of the way.

    If you let the car sit for only one day and restart there is never a problem so there is nothing to fix..

      After looking at old posts, I found John Hinckley's idea and have been using a ketchup type squeeze bottle to prime the 3810 carb on my 1967 300 HP 327 with great results. I still prefer to first crank it until the oil pressure comes up, then add the gas to the bowl vent tube. After sitting all winter, it took about 6 ounces to fill it. In the attached photo, the front of the carb is on the left.

        I have been using a syringe to fill my Holley fuel bowls for years. I like the instant starts after they have been sitting for awhile. I have bought syringes at the local CO-OP.
