Need some help... My '94 was running fine when I suddenly had to hit the brakes very hard. No wheel lock-up but had to stand on brakes pretty hard. Frankly, they've never seemed to grab very well since I've owned it (5 yrs).
Quarter mile later, was going about 25 mph... engine suddenly stumbled, nearly died, but recovered. And I noticed Service ASR light and Service Engine lights both immediately came on.. I could tell engine was not running right but I got it home. Later, it started again but with difficulty. Now it wont start at all.
I borrowed a code reader from local auto parts store.. but it could not read the codes. Funny thing is my car has a OBD2 connector, even though OBD2 did not begin til '96,... I've read that some '94/95 Corvettes got the new connector, but still have OBD1 system behind the OBD2 connector. Can anyone confirm this?
Appreciate any ideas anyone might have on how to fix.... and/or any ideas on the code reader issue, too.
