66 Seat Mount Anchors & Plates

Hi, need your help:

I feel confident that I now understand the 66 carpet cut outs & flaps for the seat tracks; however, I still have a few questions regarding the interior seat mounting brackets (U shaped straps) and the thin (4) interior support plates:

1. I believe all (4) of these plates sit under the carpet, is this correct?

2. Are the mounting ears of the U shaped straps and their mounting bolts hidden underneath the carpet?

3. What is the color of the U shapped straps?

Ray; unfortunately 67's do not use the interior "U" shaped straps in the back, I believe the rear seat tracks are bolted in place somewhat similar to the fronts whereas the 64-66 use the straps in the back, not sure aboput 63's?

I'm guesing the straps were initially bolted ontop and through the thin inside support plates prior to interior painting and therefore both would have interior overpray on them. I also think the carpet cut outs only exposed the "interior colored" loop of the strap and therefore covering the flange and mounting bolts?

But again I'm only guessing based on interpreting what I could find in the archives.---- so just wanting to make sure I got this right?

Ralph,

Believe the plates your referring to are the thin flat plates that mount under the carpet supporting the seat tracks. The U shaped retainers, mounted above the carpet over retaining the seat tracks, are painted interior color.
