    Hood blackout

Finally painting the black out under the hood of my 67, using Krylon semiflat 1613. My question is about the final finish. Spraying further away gives it a more flat and less smooth finish. Spraying closer, and keeping the paint more wet, gives a bit more gloss and smoother finish.
Does anyone know which is correct?? Thank you!

    Ken -

Less gloss is better - the original blackout had an "eggshell" sheen.

      Thanks John

The duller eggshell finish will make painting easier and help hid a few sins underneath too.
Probably like the original factory workers wanted.
