    Corvette title help

Alright, I'm hoping someone might recognize what state this title sequences comes from:

    L050952XXX

I have title information from Ohio which states that number (see above) was the previous title #. They also state that Previous Title State was WV. However, when I called the WV DMV a very nice woman stated that the title number that was given couldn't be from WV. She said that they are 1 or 2 letters and 5 or 6 numbers for a total of 7 as far back as the 50's. She thought it might be a typo.

Anyone have a clue what state that might have been from?

      Very nice but clueless woman.
Remember, DMV (name the state) is famous for hiring people who never learn half what they should know, for the job they do....

Well Rob, at least you found a nice person in government to speak to. I've found that's not always the case in my beloved Appalachains.

I'll be in West Virginia in 6 hours, I'm packing my chains.

              Merry Christmas Mike,

It's a Milano Maroon vert, 300 horse, 4 spd, standard interior, AM/FM, and 3:08 rear. The top was replaced in '76 and was black (so I am assuming that it was black from the factory). I know it had it's original paint until 1985 when it went to Ohio.

              Remember it?

i recall a 66 maroon roadster in the parkersburg, wva area. don't know who the owner was or if in fact its the car your dealing with. there was an ncrs member who dealt in c-1 and c-2 cars and parts back in the late 60's thru early 80's. if i recall correctly, his name was joe astrog and i believe he owned or was associated with a buick dealership in the parkersburg area. try running him down. i bought a set of knock off from him in the early 70's. think the 5 went for 200 bucks.mike
