Check through Driveline and Hemmings, there are a few folks who can help you.

I have asked John for a starter for my 63 on a couple of occasions and he never seems to have them.

A date correct 1107242 for your 63 is not a common part. It took John 18 months to find one for me. Be patient.

The 1107242 was also used on 63 passenger cars with 327's. So you would think there would be plenty around, but apparently not.

Thank you for replying to my request for data. I have over the past two years searched both documents and John Pirkle with no success. I am and was looking for a starter and voltage regulator.
If something crosses your path I would appreciate an email.

            Thank you

              Rich,
There are several starter listed on e-bay that would fit the time frame that you need.
Looks as though they may need to be cleaned and possibly rebuilt.

                  Re: 63 starter

John Pirkel warned me that there are people on ebay selling what they claim to be a correct starter for a 63 sometimes they are correct and sometimes not.

Call Chicago Corvette and talk to them. They can be VERY hard to deal with (like getting your $$ back for a core return). But they do have inventory. If they have the starter you need just buy the core and get it rebuilt locally.

More important than the day your car was built is the day your ENGINE was assembled.
Call Chicago if you have a death wish or a compulsion to flush $$$ down a toilet.

Richard, As Loren mentioned the engine build date determines the date on the starter.
Finding a correct 63 starting solenoid isn't easy. Check the archives for lots of posts on this part.
Personally I would find a ratty old core that shows no signs of being "massaged" and then ship it off to Pirkle. Meanwhile stick another starter on the engine temporarily. They are not that hard to install. John

You'll need a '512 voltage regulator vs. the later, more common, '515 V-Reg. They aren't that easy to find as this was a SHORT LIVED part...
