    1972 - LT1 radiator cap

Does anybody know who rebuilds radiator caps? Or in the alternative where I could buy an original cap for my '72? I just tested the one on my car and it failed.

    Your help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jerry

Jerry, I just had my radiator cap rebuilt for my 1970 Corvette by Joe Perri in Chiago,Il. He does beautiful work. My cap is as good as NOS.

Jerry, why not just keep the original for judging reasons and install a repro or just one from the auto parts store.

Jerry, I should have said that Joe Perri restored my gas cap recently. He also does radiator caps.

Joe is the best. He did a radiator cap for me, came back beautiful. Then I met him at Bloomington and this week I am sending him 5 more caps (2 -Gas Caps, 3 - Radiator Caps).

Jerry, Joe Perri's cell phone is 312-307-1977 and his address is:
                6845 N. Mendota Ave.
                Chicago, Il 60646

For my gas cap, he replaced the lower component exposed to the gas fumes, re-plated both inside and outside pieces and replaced the rubber seal for $115 which included shipping. The only part I provided was the outside component. I thought he was very reasonable for a professional job.

Thanks alot guys. I will contact Joe. It sounds like he'll do a great job. However, I will use an off the shelf cap for the occasional drive and the refurbished one for shows and meets.

                  Thanks again.

                    Jerry,

                    Paul Oslansky does cap rebuild/refurbishing.
I purchased a cap from him and was VERY happy with it - he is reasonable with pricing too.
