The kick panel speakers in my 1969 Corvette AM/FM Stereo need replacement. I realize they'll never sound like a modern stereo, but would like them to sound as good as they can given the orig radio. I have no interest in any major upgrade to the sound system, just speaker replacement.
http://www.turnswitch.com/ offers replacements. They say their replacements have better magnets/sound quality and also say that re-coning frequently doesn't produce good sound.
They are supposed to be designed for the old radios - correct OHM and fit in the small shallow kick panel mounting area.
An old post says they won't pass NCRS. How would a judge tell the Electro-tech speakers from original?
Does anyone have experience with these speakers or other suggestions?
