In preparing for my carpet install I did a water/leak test today and my deck lid failed miserably. Readjusting the lid didn't help. I think the ends of the weather strip are attached at the wrong spot which may be causing the entire WS to be stretched rather than properly bunched.
Please take a look at these photos and let me know if the ends are in the correct spot or if they should be attached about an inch or so towards the rear of the car on that other little lip/wall. My thought is if both ends are moved rearward then, that gives me approximately two inches of WS to bunch evenly around the lid and hopefully make a nice seal with the gutter.
Also, can anyone recommend a vendor who sells the correct WS that will not cause the lid to sit up too high etc., yet will seal properly? Mine was fitting and opening/closing PERFECTLY........except it leaks like Niagara Falls!
Thanks, Tim
