My original owner 1970 drivers door outside lock will unlock with the ignition key when turned to the right and will lock the door when the key is turned to the left.

Not to confuse the issue (but some people will -- ask me how I know.) but when the top of the key is turned to the right the bottom of the key turns left -- so can you find a more fool proof (my deliberate choice of terms) way to describe what the key is doing?
