    Cotter Pins

I have gone through the archives on this subject and read that I should be able to find a dscription on how to install/configure/bend my cotter pins. I can not in my assembly manual how to work the cotter pins. I have a 58. I have completed the rebuild of my front suspension and I have inserted cotter pins through the castle nuts on my front backing plates and tie rods. I bent them up and over the top of the nut and bolt. Is this correct? Does it matter? What is the correct technique?
    Thanks,
    jim

    Jim -

Normally, only one end of the inserted pin is bent up over the end of the bolt, and the other one is left flat. Midyear ball joint studs are different, but that doesn't apply to C1's.
