HAve you sent the data to Scott Lindee for the NCRS survey? Or send it to me and I will forward it

That price is about right for that '71 LT-1 coupe, in my opinion. It looks like a winner. I've been contacted by several owners with '72 LT-1 A/C vettes, who are surprised at the early date of production of mine (Feb.8,'72) and the price that I paid. I recently spoke to the owner of one of these listed on ebay for over $50k and he had seen mine in the dealer's showroom on consignment last year. He offered $25K then (as I did), but it was declined then. So he bought his out west for $40 something, which he's now selling.

Here's another example of how I have luck with finding rare Corvette deals. I bought a '78 Pace Car with only 63 miles on the odometer right out of the dealers showroom in 2005. Never titled, window stickers, chalk markings, etc. I saw it at age 24 in 1978 and bought it at age 51 in 2005. Others had offered as much as $40-$50k for this time capsule over the years. I got it for $22K. Got a NCRS Top Flight, and killed the competition in my class for 2 yrs at shows. Then after 2 years I sold in on ebay to a big collector in Miami for $32,500. It then had 2,200 miles on it and about 35 trophies that went with it.

Yes, sometimes it pays to wait...... even if it IS 27 years!

The head cast dates start with H and I, isn't that August and September?

mmm, actually that would make sense, early 70 car, late 69 cast heads and the strike was on during that time so easy for stuff to sit on the loading dock.

My 70 LT-1 with engine build of 0203 has one late Dec and one early Jan head.

Kind of curious. I keep information of all 70 LT-1s I come across and I've got a copy of a tank sticker for a 70 LT-1 convertible with a very close vin to the one for sale. The tank stickers are almost identical; same color, same zone and dealer, and what appears to be the same order number and same or almost the same ident number. Is that possible?

Nope. The dealer order number was pre-printed on the order forms, and a new/unique Ident Number was assigned to each dealer order when the plant accepted the order for production.

Here's the other tank sticker I was referring to. Looks like the ident number is one digit off. Same zone, dealer, order date, and number. Possibly two LT-1s same color, one coupe, one convertible ordered by the same dealer.

The two are so close to identical - down to the same size glob of glue/hole and placement. It'd be a neat story if the cars were ordered as "his" n' "hers" but something tells me the only thing that came down the assembly line together was these two sheets of paper! Would like to see more paperwork for both...
