    TI system, non TI coil??

On another thread it was stated that you could not use a non TI coil on a TI car. Is that true? The reason I ask is that I have been tinkering with the car I got a few months ago to try and get it to run better, but no matter what I do when I get to around 4500 RPM it seems like the fire is "breaking down". I had thought it was a fuel problem so I had a correct carb rebuilt for it. Now I am almost certain it is an ignition problem. I pulled the coil out today so I would know what it was and it is a 202, which I do not believe was originally made for a TI system. My info shows it was originally for 300 & 350 HP non TI engines.

Could this be the source of some of my problems??

    Thanks,

    Larry
