There's a group (5 couples) of us from our club headed out to our first ever trip to Carlisle. The more we hear about it the more excited we are about going. Starting to feel like a 16 year old parking for the first time!! We have the whole week planned out. Starting off in Tuscola, Illinois on Friday afternoon about 3:00 August 21st stopping in Dayton Friday night. One of our first stops Saturday will be in Dresden Ohio at a Frank Lloyd Wright house called the Falling Water House. Then on to the Flight 93 Memorial and stopping in Somerset, Pa Saturday night. Sunday on to Gettysburg to check out the Museum, battlefield, David Wills House, etc. Drive to Lancaster Sunday afternoon to visit Amish country. Being from Central Illinois and only 20 miles from Illinois' Amish country (Arthur) we are pretty familiar with the Amish lifestyle/heritage. Monday afternoon through Wednesday night we'll be in Philly. Things lined up in Philly are: Independence Nat'l Hist Park, Liberty Bell, Valley Forge, eat Philly cheesesteak (OKAY guys, who makes the best one??), Le Bar Lyonnais, Phil. Museum of Art/Gardens, shop 9th St. Italian Market, etc, tour Phillies stadium. Get up Thursday head to Hershey to visit the Hershey Museum, Antique Auto Museum, and antique shops. Maybe tour the Harley plant (but someone mentioned we couldn't see much as they would be shut down/no production). Thursday afternoon head to Mechanicsburg to Wingate get ready for Carlisle Friday and Saturday. If we can get the girls moving Thursday us guys may head over to Carlisle Thursday afternoon. We're getting the Funfield packets. Since I'm pretty new (43807) here on the NCRS forum I've met some of you in person at the Nationals in St. Charles and at BG this year but would like to be able to meet up with some more out at Carlisle. It sounds like several of the forum members are there from year to year. I've tried writing down some of your vendor spots or where some of you plan on hanging out (Vetteheads/swimming pool is on my list, I may have lifeguard duty but not sure yet!!). If you wouldn't mind post where your spots are so I/we can stop by and meet you in person. We'll be the group of guys with our heads spinning around trying to see everything we can. I may even be dragging a set of Ralleys/redlines for the 67 if I can find a set. Also looking for a 837 horn relay, set of front springs and leaf springs. Do they have a place set up where you can arrange shipping at Carlisle?? I don't think my better half would like a 9 leaf spring or ralleys hanging out the trunk of her 50th Annie, although it is a convertible I could carry them in my lap maybe!! If anyone sees something else we need to put on our list of places we're seeing don't hesitate to post. Also we all like to eat so if you know of any GREAT restaurants we need to check out let us know. Sorry for the long post, DAMN I'm GETTING EXCITED!!
