    Trunk Assist Spring Install ??

    I have a '54 that needs the right side trunk assist spring installed. How in the world do you compress and install the two springs (small diameter inner and larger diameter outer spring) down from 7" to 41/2" and then get the adjusting bolt, washers and adjusting nut through?? I've tried all tread compression with wire holding it together. All I get is a buckled mess! Is there a valve spring compression type tool out there? or something I can jerry-rig?
