    C2 Bra

Anyone have any ideas on a descent C2 bra. I have seen the covercraft ones and am not impressed!

They are not a good idea. They can cause more damage than they prevent.

VERY BAD IDEA. Dirt and sand get under them and they "rub" all the paint off. If they get wet from rain, they screw up the paint something terrible.

There are plastic sheet covers that have worked with great success. Years ago Wendall Hans drove his 1969 DUNTOV car from California to Williamburg, Virginia. Got his DUNTOV award, and then drove the car home. He wrote a great story in the RESTORER how he covered the front of the car with "plastic" protector sheets. His email is wjhdyno@aol.com . Ask him for a copy.

Today, he has a new story in the new RESTORER, page 25 about wheel stamp marks.

i have used "good" fitting bras on my C-5 and C-6 corvettes for many miles with no paint damage at all. the word here is "good" fitting as i used GM sold bra. keep the inside of the bra clean,i vacuumed mine and keep paste wax on the paint. JMHO

I agree with the others----these bras are generally a bad way to go. There is one exception. If one goes on a relatively long road trip where the car is exposed to a lot of dust, rocks, and insect damage, then using the bra just for that sort of driving may be beneficial. However, leave it installed ONLY during this time. The bra MUST be tight fitting and secured fully to the car. If it rains at any time on the road trip, remove the bra IMMEDIATELY.

I vote NO on the bra!!!!
They are a great idea if they work as designed.
If you get any moisture underneath, it will fog the paint, so you had better be sure it is always dry inside.
Many, if not most, will imperceptibly rub. So, as you drive, and although you can't see it, it will slowly rub holes in your paint.
How do I know this, you ask??

I would only use one which was GUARANTEED not to cause abrasive and/or moisture damage.

In other words, I would not use one.

              I use this instead:

Joe - What was the RPO for this option? Was it a 67 only option? The hood ornament and right side mirror also look incorrect.

                Thanks for the laugh!
